L to R- Cousin Lian, older bro, and yours truly
Looks like crap, but tastes like awesome!!
I first tried my hand at hobby modelling and gaming when I was about 13 years old. My brother and I were at Mall of America, and we found a hobby shop that stocked some GW products in addition to other gaming supplies. I saw the Skaven Codex and bought that. My brother picked up the Chaos Codex (back when they were still united as Warriors and Beastmen)- I have no idea what we did for the rest of the vacation, but I remember clearly gleaning every bit of info and fluff from our books, planning our armies. My closest cousin to my age eventually got sucked in with us and took High Elves to the field.
We got into everything Games Workshop- we played Fantasy, Necromunda, eventually branched out to Warhammer 40K when they revised it with the Crimson Fists/Black Templars as the forerunners, and even Mordheim. We even bought a box of Warhammer Quest that was never used until recently. I remember at one point, I had nearly every army's Codex for 40K.
For some reason that I can't remember, I just stopped playing. My brother moved away for work, I moved to campus then Japan to work. And now, after more than 10 years, I'm back in the game. Time to learn what I've forgotten and improve that.
I've just started with my cousin again- Tyranids for my new force, and Guard for his. Here you'll see works in progress, custom figures, and tutorials that I've either used or I think help.
If anyone has any suggestions for something that they'd like to see on this site, let me know.
